It's easy to remember the things we wish we could forget.

I forgot to post yesterday, but better late than never, right? So this week has had a lot of emotions, go figure. Just a lot of ups and downs. Learning how to move on and make the best out of life right now. Today marks the 5th anniversary that we lost a truly sweet, kind, caring, and amazing girl. I still remember that day that it happened. I remember the text I got from my dad. I remember not being able to keep it together long enough to get to the church. I can still remember the funeral like it was yesterday too. I remember standing in the back listening to my dad talk. Listening to our principal and Jim Yeager talk about Alyssa. I remember standing next to my English teacher as she hugged all of us students who were next to her. It's incredibly hard to think that it's been 5 years since that day, my timehop app on my phone is filled with 5 years of remembering her. It's amazing how much losing a classmate brings an entire graduating class together. Even if people d...

Dear no one...

So Sunday is usually my blog day, but I have stuff on my mind. You'll have to excuse my back and forth emotions in these posts. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel or act post break-up. I know I've talked about this in every single post, but this is my life as of right now. It's been close to 5 months and I'm still not sure what to do with myself. I still feel like everything has just been one big bad dream. I've moved to a different city and started a new job and I don't feel like it's my real life. I don't feel at home, none of it feels real to me. I miss Ardmore. Even though I didn't have very many friends there anymore, I miss it. Sometimes I think I want to move back, but I know that I would be even more miserable there than I am here. I don't feel like Edmond is my home, I don't think I ever will. I know that life will eventually get easier for me and I won't feel like this anymore. I'll be honest here, I'm not...

It's an ongoing battle.

I've been putting off today's post because I'm not really sure what to write about. One of my last posts I talked about how it gets easier for you after a break up. I'm kind of feeling like a hypocrite because this past week has been horrible for me. It has been extremely difficult trying to get used to living in a new place, working at a new job, not having any friends, and especially not talking to the one person I still want to talk to. This past week has just been full of missing everything. Missing talking to them, hanging out, and constantly thinking of what we would be doing if we were still together. I know that I shouldn't think that way because all it does it bring back memories that make moving on difficult, but this week it's been nearly impossible for me to not think about that stuff. Everyone tells me "WE'LL get through this." but it's not their problem, not their battle. They can't help me get through any of this. Despite w...

Curves & Imperfections

Good morning, I've decided that I'm going to try to make Sunday's my blog day, we'll see how well it goes. My first post I put up a little over a year ago explained why my blog's name is what it is and explained what type of stuff I would be posting, but since that was almost a year ago, let me reiterate. I dedicate my blog to all the young women out there going through the struggles of life. All the heartbreaks of life, all the struggles of "learning to love your body", and sometimes I'm just here to give them an encouraging word. So whatever it may be for you, hopefully you know that you're not alone on whatever it is you may be dealing with. As I write this, I'm working up the energy to go do my workout after I get done. Today's post is about fitness, your body, and just being in shape. I'm in no place to tell you to get out there and workout and that you have to eat healthy, and blah blah blah. This is more of a do what makes you ...

Heartbreak Hotel

I don't blog very often, not as much as I would like to at least. But here goes nothing, I'm going to attempt to find the time once a week to post a new blog, we'll see if I can do it ;). Most of my posts are directed towards females, and more so directed towards teen girls and such. I'm not the wisest woman and I've made my own mistakes, but if I can write something and someone reads it and takes something from it, than that's all that matters to me. HEARTBREAK. It's horrible. It's not fun and it makes you miserable. You feel like your entire world has fallen apart, everything inside of you hurts, your emotions are completely unstable, and you just have absolutely no idea what to do with yourself. This blog post isn't an easy one to talk about, but I know that almost every girl will go through this at one point or another...and the point of this is to let every single girl out there know that life goes on. It gets better with or without a signi...

Stay positive.

It's been awhile since I've made a post. Lots of things seem to be going on in my life and in my head. Don't you hate it when you can't control anything that is going on? Whether it's plans that were made, work situations, or your emotions? Sometimes life hands us situations that are out of our control. We can't do anything about them, or the people that are involved. We can't beg for things to change, we can't do a single thing about any of it. That is literally the worst feeling in the world. You feel helpless. You feel like when things like that happen, that nothing is in your control anymore. Your emotions are completely out of whack and you don't know if you need to scream, cry, or throw up. You don't know if you're depressed, sad, mad, but you know for a fact that you aren't happy. It's not easy to go through these things, and it's for sure not easy to go through them alone. Clearly I say this from experience. It's not a...

It's National Adoption Month

HEYYYY, it's November. Know what that means? It's National Adoption Month. Yes, there is a month that celebrates adoption. Why shouldn't there be? We celebrate the most random things in this country, might as well celebrate something worth celebrating for once. This is obviously a very special topic to me, and for those who don't know or haven't caught on, I'm adopted. I was adopted and brought to America when I was 4 months old. I read an article a few days ago and it titled something like "16 Things You Learn As An Adopted Family", and one of the facts was "you will know what a real mom or dad is". I remember one time when I was growing up, someone told me that because I was adopted that I didn't have a real mom or dad. I also remember being corrected by my parents when I told them that. A real mom or dad aren't the people who gave you life, they're the people who take care of you when you're sick, teach you how to tie you...
