Asking for a friend. Pt 2
The word "friend" is used so loosely these days. Whenever I'm talking about somebody, I always describe them as my friend, but 90% of the time they're just an acquaintance. I would give anything right now to have a true friend. To be honest, I couldn't tell you what it feels like to have someone stick by your side, someone to talk to, someone to hang out with, someone to go do fun things with, etc. The same thing always happens to me...I meet a new person, exchange numbers or whatever, talk about hanging out, and then nothing ever happens. Most of the time people bail on me or stop talking to me. I've cut a few people out of my life, but I've done that because even though I'm lonely, I can't have toxic people in my life. It would be really nice to meet someone and not just be able to say that I have a friend, but to feel like I am someone's friend for once. I can say that I have friends, but to actually feel like you are somebody's friend is a different feeling. I haven't felt like I'm anyone's friend in a long time. Is it something I do or say? I like to think I do my best to be a good friend to the people I want to be friends with. I don't need someone to text all the time and I don't have to do stuff every single weekend, but it would be nice to have someone that I can talk to and make plans with and know that they won't bail on me.
Can I just say, thank goodness for the people I've met on twitter? As lame and stupid as this may be, they make me feel like I have people to talk to. Granted, 80% of the stuff we talk about is OKC Thunder related, but those guys have been awesome. Mad props, twitter friends.
Waiting and wishing...
In the meantime I'll be nervously waiting the news of KD's free agency decision and attempting to make friends with people.
