Come out swingin'
Blah blah blah...change is good...keep on going...etc.
I seem to have hit another "bump in the road" as they call it. Lots going on, lots of things rattling around in my brain. Sometimes life hits you with the unexpected, my life in the last year is the perfect example of that. I feel like I have the worst luck sometimes. Now don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for where I am in life and what I have, but I don't handle stress and life changes very well. I always end up making myself sick. Fortunately for me, this last big change didn't hit me quite as hard as my previous one did. It sucked, it wasn't fun, I hated every second of having to deal with it, I felt like a failure, and I didn't want to be around people, but I knew I couldn't be down for long. Something I've worked on in this last year is just trying to stay as positive as I can and doing what's best for me. When I say doing what's best for me (or you) I'm talkin'...do something fun, adventurous, or anything that makes you happy, don't allow people into your life that stress you out, be willing to say goodbye to people that only hold you back, and as Tom Haverford on Parks & Recs would say "TREAT YO SELF".
Enjoy, hope this helps you, whoever you may be.

- Do something fun, adventurous, or whatever makes you happy: Get a snowcone (snowcones always make me happy. I've yet to find a snowcone stand in OKC as good as The Snow Blizzard in Ardmore). Get a tattoo, it's all about being adventurous! Watch a Thunder game, try new foods, anything that you wouldn't normally do.
- Don't allow people into your life that stress you/Be willing to say goodbye to people that hold you back: Sometimes you have to be willing to let people go. If the only thing they contribute to your life is stress...goodbye! You shouldn't feel bad for doing what's best for you. Trust me, it's not easy to say bye to people you wish could still be in your life, but it's not worth the stress or frustration. They won't always understand, and that's okay. You have to do it for yourself. Sometimes it's lonely, but it's a chance to work on yourself. Learn about yourself and figure out what YOU want to do, what YOU like, and where YOU want to go in life. Once you figure that out, the right people will come into your life and help you reach those goals.
- "TREAT YO SELF": It's basically similar to the first bullet point. Go out and do something that you wouldn't normally do. Go buy that pair of high heels you saw at the mall, or go on that trip to the beach. Now don't go and rack up an absurd credit card bill that you can't afford to pay...but do something you want to do within your budget.
Now that I've said all that and I've taken about an hour to write this thing because I keep getting distracted...I hope it helps someone. Make yourself a playlist of songs that lift your spirits and keep you going, my playlist is titled "You Got This". I just have some songs that when I hear them, they remind me that I got this, I'll be okay.
